The Lodge

This historic lodge welcomes up to eight guests—hunters and non-hunters alike—and offers a very comfortable, friendly atmosphere for relaxing and enjoying your stay.

On the ground floor of San Martin Lodge, you’ll find a cozy living room with a nice fireplace, a very comfortable dining room, a kitchen, and a bedroom with a bathroom.

A large porch wraps around the house, where guests can enjoy conversation, drinks, and a great time listening to stories.

This is also the designated place for guests to store their guns, jackets, and waders and get ready for the next hunt, with an area for firearm maintenance.

The second floor has three bedrooms with private bathrooms.

Built in 1910 and once owned by one of the world’s most famous polo players, the house has long been—and still is—a warm retreat for those who love and enjoy the hospitality of the beautiful Argentine Pampas.

San Martin Lodge is located near the town of Lincoln, about 270 miles due west of Buenos Aires.

You can travel from Buenos Aires by car or van (3.5 hours) or by air (a 50-minute flight) to the local airport, which is 15 minutes from the lodge.

Food & Wines

After a day’s hunt, you can enjoy great hors d’oeuvres and drinks at the bar while sharing stories from the field.
Excellent meals and premium Argentine wines will be waiting for you. Southern Cross Adventures Argentina is one of the most highly recommended duck-hunting destinations. One of the main reasons for our abundant duck population is that not a single local resident has ever shot ducks. Unlike in the US or Europe, duck hunting has never been part of our tradition.

HUNTING SEASON DATES

The waterfowl season begins in May and ends in late July.
Argentines never shoot doves or geese for sport, and very few of us shoot ducks. In the Lincoln area, increased rainfall over the past fifteen years, combined with extensive grain production, has created ideal waterfowl conditions, resulting in a vast network of marshes, ponds, lakes, and potholes that offer excellent feeding and roosting areas nearby.
